In the Falling Time II - Cupressus Island

I understand why many of us return to photograph a subject time and again. This stand of two trees in a small lake is one that I have photographed several times before. Yet, each time is like shooting it for the first time.

Three years ago, this same shot would have included several upturned john boats. Now, they are gone. Last year, the small island was on dry land after a year of drought. Now, it is just a small patch of ground above the water. Who knows what it will be the next time I pass by.

This shot was something of an experiment. Just as I have become more comfortable with the capabilities of my Zero2000 pinhole camera with black and white film, I took a chance and shot a few rolls of color because black and white would not do the autumn colors justice. I hope I have...
